Jess Watnemo was born and raised in Moorhead, Minnesota. During high school she was able to study art under a local artist, Michael Dunn. After graduation, she went on to spend one year at a folk school in Norway where she studied international art. When Jessica returned home from Norway, she continued her studies in the field of art at Moorhead State University.
In 2003, Jessica made the decision to turn her passions for painting and drawing into a life-long career. Whith the support of her husband and family, she built a studio and office space in her home just north of Minneapolis, MN. Here she is surrounded by the beauty of the wild outdoors which is her inspiration for everything she creates in oils, pastels, watercolors and acrylics.
As a self-published artist, Jessica has had prints and limited editions made from some of her artworks. Currently she has eight limited editions with several more in the making. Already, Jess has many of her art prints showing in galleries all across Minnesota as well as in Fargo, ND. She has sold some pieces to collectors across the United States as well as internationally.
When Jessica is not working on her next piece of art, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, meeting people from all around the world, and tries to participate in as many art festivals and shows as possible. |
